Είμαι δασκάλα. Και όπως οι περισσότεροι/ες συνάδελφοι, ξυπνάω κάθε πρωί με μια λίστα στο μυαλό μου που δεν τελειώνει ποτέ: να προλάβω να φτιάξω φύλλα εργασίας, να σκεφτώ τρόπους να κινητοποιήσω τους “δύσκολους” μαθητές, να στηρίξω το παιδί που ήρθε χτες από άλλη χώρα και δεν μιλά ούτε ελληνικά, να μιλήσω με τον γονιό που ανησυχεί, να κρατήσω όρθια την τάξη μέσα σ’ ένα σχολείο που συχνά δεν έχει ούτε ψυχολόγο, ούτε βοηθητικό προσωπικό. Αυτή είναι η δική μας καθημερινότητα. Και τώρα, έρχεται ένα νέο σχέδιο αξιολόγησης να τη φορτώσει ακόμα περισσότερο – και μάλιστα με τον μανδύα της «βελτίωσης».
Πίσω από τις ωραίες λέξεις – «ανάπτυξη», «ανατροφοδότηση», «επικοινωνία», «επαγγελματισμός» – κρύβεται ένα σύστημα που μετατρέπει τον δάσκαλο από παιδαγωγό σε υπάλληλο υποχρεωμένο να αυτοπαρατηρείται, να καταγράφεται, να δικαιολογεί κάθε του βήμα. Θα πρέπει να ετοιμάζω φάκελο με δείγματα δουλειάς, να περιμένω την επίσκεψη του διευθυντή, να σχεδιάζω δράσεις όχι επειδή τις πιστεύω, αλλά επειδή «γράφουν καλά» στα έντυπα, να συμμετέχω υποχρεωτικά σε επιμορφώσεις, χωρίς να λαμβάνεται υπόψη η πραγματική μου ανάγκη ή ο διαθέσιμος χρόνος.
Και όλο αυτό πότε; Στο τέλος μιας μέρας που έχω ήδη μιλήσει με δέκα παιδιά ξεχωριστά, έχω λύσει πέντε μικροκαβγάδες, έχω υψώσει τη φωνή μου για να κρατήσω την τάξη, έχω χαμογελάσει σε παιδικά μάτια που διψούν για προσοχή. Πού θα βρω τον χρόνο και την ψυχική ενέργεια να τεκμηριώνω συνεχώς το έργο μου; Και ποιος θα με αξιολογήσει για όλα όσα κάνω και δεν φαίνονται;
Το πιο ανησυχητικό, όμως, είναι άλλο: το κλίμα που δημιουργείται. Όταν η αξιολόγηση γίνεται από πάνω προς τα κάτω, όταν συνδέεται με πιθανές κυρώσεις ή διακρίσεις, τότε ο φόβος, η ανασφάλεια και ο ανταγωνισμός μπαίνουν στις αίθουσες. Ο διάλογος και η συνεργασία δίνουν τη θέση τους στην καχυποψία και την «εικόνα». Δεν δουλεύουμε για να βελτιώσουμε τους εαυτούς μας ή την παιδεία, δουλεύουμε για να «πετύχουμε» τα επιφανειακά τους κριτήρια. Κι αυτό, για έναν δάσκαλο που έχει επιλέξει τη δουλειά αυτή από αγάπη και όχι για την “καριέρα”, είναι βαθιά απογοητευτικό.
Ως άνθρωπος που πιστεύει σε μια δημόσια παιδεία ανθρώπινη, δημοκρατική και χωρίς αποκλεισμούς, λέω το εξής: δεν είμαστε αντίθετοι στην αξιολόγηση, όταν αυτή γίνεται με σκοπό τη στήριξη, τη συνεργασία και την ουσιαστική επιμόρφωση. Αλλά το νέο σχέδιο είναι άλλο πράγμα. Δεν λύνει κανένα πρόβλημα του σχολείου – αντιθέτως, φορτώνει τον εκπαιδευτικό με ακόμα περισσότερα, του στερεί χρόνο, ελευθερία και ουσία.
Αν θέλουμε αλλαγή, ας ξεκινήσουμε από εκεί που πονάει πραγματικά το σχολείο: στην υποστελέχωση, στη στήριξη, στην ένταξη όλων των παιδιών, στη μείωση της γραφειοκρατίας και στην εμπιστοσύνη στον ρόλο μας.
Το σχολείο δεν αλλάζει με αξιολογικούς πίνακες. Αλλάζει με ανθρώπους που πιστεύουν σε αυτό και εργάζονται με ενσυναίσθηση και συλλογικότητα. Και αυτούς πρέπει να τους εμπιστευτεί το κράτος – όχι να τους ελέγξει.
